Welcome to Destination Weddings!
"When home just ain't good enough"

New Location: England

Those whacky brits have taken tradition seriously! Check out this place called Fantasia in England. As a bride, youll never have to worry about your dress being out of fashion because it already has been for hundreds and hundreds of years! Ditto for the groom, but at least you can carry a big sword and eat huge hunks of meat!

Welcome to Israel!

Welcome to Destination Weddings!
"When home just ain't good enough"

New Location: Israel

I picked this location to write about mainly because of world-weddings.com who extoles of the beauty if Israel, talking about the "green valleys and verdant forests, bordering its tranquil sea." that awaits young bride and grooms. You may also run into friendly palenstinian militants as they worship the god of RPG's, as pictured below.

If you do have a wedding there, be sure to only have a wedding on the first floor. Probably good advice anywhere.

Welcome to Destination Weddings!
"When home just ain't good enough"

New Location: Time Space Continuum

Do you only see your friends when you sleep? Do regular people generally look at you funny and ignore you? Are all your friends Klingons or Romulans? This maybe the perfect location for you! Get married in Vegas and you could find yourself on the Starship Enterprise! The Star Trek Experience lets you live out your dreams with friendly Borg standing with you while you announce your love!

Where else can your dreams take you?

Welcome to the US? Arent you here already?

Welcome to Destination Weddings!
"When home just ain't good enough"

New Location: Seattle Underground

Theres something to be said about the smell of an underground ruins. It could be the scent from an infestation of rats or possibly the left over years of homeless, gambling halls, speakeasies, and opium dens. The Seattle Underground has gone through enough renovations, though, that you can find Elvis wannabes serenading bride and grooms who find their way to this destination wedding.

Who knows about Fiji?

Welcome to Destination Weddings!
"When home just ain't good enough"

A site dedicated to "normal" destination weddings, offers Fiji to brides and grooms with "Miles of empty white beaches" and "a horizon of sapphire sea". They probably didn't know that it also classifies as a "special" destination wedding with this US travel warning! Be sure to ask your guests to pack appropriately!

Welcome to CôTE D'IVOIRE

Welcome to Destination Weddings!
"When home just ain't good enough"

New Location: CôTE D'IVOIRE

This amazingly scenic country of Africa has had its ups and downs, but sure enough the beauty of the nation perseveres! Be sure to avoid the few toxic areas out and about. And after saving bundles of money on an extravagant wedding, be sure to stop by and provide some humanitarian aid to those in need.

A bride and groom should be aware of a few things about the country. When having a bachelor or bachelorette party in CôTE D'IVOIRE is keep in mind that the CIA Factbook states a 7% AIDS rate. Though it should also be noted, that like many statistics, these were:
  1. Gathered by the Government
  2. Done years ago in 2003.

Blast from the Past!

Welcome to Destination Weddings!
"When home just ain't good enough"

If you're a history buff and interested in medical practices during civil war times (pictured left) this place may interest you. The Western North Carolina Historical Center is offering brides and grooms an ideal historic wedding, but remember, their rules prohibit pinatas!

Welcome to Haiti!

Welcome to Destination Weddings!
"When home just ain't good enough"

New Location: Haiti

Even though the U.S. Government might warn against this beautiful location, cruising enterprises still travel here, so you know that safety shouldn't be a concern. Those worried about high crime rates should note that the statistics were gathered many years ago in 2004 and do not necessarily reflect the country today. Its also worthy to note that there are plenty of UN peacekeeps (pictured right) to also help provide saftey. Remember, weddings take place everywhere in the world and the joyous spirit of the celebration is the same, no matter the country. As a bride and groom, you can be sure the Haitians enjoy and appreciate the same types of wedding we enjoy in the states.

Now onto important wedding information! If you're not feeling adventurous, you can go to Labadee, an island owned by a cruise line. Here you will find beaches, water sports, and a Haitian flea market, of course you'll have to work out details with the cruise line to get married there. They're very negotiable.

Welcome to Cambodia!

Welcome to Destination Weddings!
"When home just ain't good enough"

New Location: Cambodia

While most would not think the former territory of Khmer Rogue interesting, you should note that Cambodia is quickly becoming modernized. Despite their modernization, there are locations outside of Phnom Penh that maintain their cultural elegance.

While avoiding the killing fields and shrines full of skulls (pictured left), you might find some nice beaches where you can immediately frolic in the sand after a beautiful wedding ceremony (pictured right in Koh Rong). The pricing in Cambodia will fit almost any wedding budget.

You can also go to
Sihanoukville which also sports a popular beach for foreigners and an international airport! This ideal destination wedding location will get you started in you new life in an exciting way as you tour famous park sites and enjoy the local peoples!

Destination Weddings Welcome

Welcome to Destination Weddings!
"When home just ain't good enough"

Do you want something extraordinary? Tired of all the cookie cutter weddings going around? Well have a DESTINATION WEDDING. This is where you'll find all sorts of information regarding weddings in exotic locations, far far far far away from home. Imagine yourselves being married among a himilayian tribe, dancing the bridal jig of the gods while yetis howl in the distance. Or how about traversing the Amazon rain

forest before coming upon an ancient Mayan ruins! Then you are whisked away in a torrent of marriage ceremonies that gives you a myriad of experiences, from tasting savory foods made from indigenous Amazonian wildlife to the witnessing brutal divine sacrifices of the C'Thulu dance.

Now before you start packing right away, it is important to remember a few things for exotic locations like these:

1. Know the indigenous plant life so you can avoid the poisonous ones when scavenging for food.
2. Understand the water situation for the area. For instance, if you wedding is in the scenic Gobi Desert, be sure to you understand the principles of gathering water
3. Be sure to pack appropriately for your wedding.
4. Survival kits will help tremendously.

Of course these are just some basic things to get you started, more to come!
